Tree Removal done right, by neighbors who live here

Removing a tree near a house is not a job for a homeowner with a chainsaw. We take down trees of any size across Mercer County, including hazardous, leaning, and storm-damaged trees that have to come down in tight quarters. Most removals are rigged down piece by piece by rope so nothing free-falls onto the lawn, the fence, or the roof.

We pull a lot of dead and dying ash trees out of Lawrenceville, Princeton, and Hopewell yards (emerald ash borer has been working its way through the county for years), along with storm-cracked silver maples and over-mature Bradford pears. On tight lots in Trenton and older parts of Hamilton we crane out trees we cannot rig safely by hand.

What's included

  • Hazardous, dead, and storm-damaged tree removals
  • Tight-space rigging next to homes, fences, and pools
  • Crane-assisted takedowns when the drop zone is too small
  • Full debris haul-away including chips and large rounds
  • Logs cut to firewood length and stacked on request
  • Permit help in Princeton, Hopewell, and Pennington when required

How it works

  1. 1

    On-site assessment

We look at the tree, the drop zone, the access for the truck and chipper, and quote a fixed price in writing.

  2. 2

    Permits if needed

Some towns (Princeton, Hopewell Borough) require a removal permit on trees above a certain size. We handle the paperwork.

  3. 3

    Set up and rig

Bucket truck, climbing line, or crane depending on the tree. Tarps and plywood down on the lawn to protect turf and beds.

  4. 4

    Remove piece by piece

Limbs rigged down, trunk sectioned, and stump cut flush. Optional stump grinding scheduled separately.

  5. 5

    Clean up

All brush chipped, logs hauled or stacked, sawdust blown off the lawn. Driveway swept on the way out.

Frequently asked questions

How much does tree removal cost?+

It depends on size, access, and what is under the tree. Small backyard trees can run a few hundred dollars. Large oaks over a house can run several thousand. We give a fixed written price after we see it.

Do I need a permit?+

Lawrence Township, Ewing, and Hamilton generally do not require a permit on private property. Princeton, Hopewell Borough, and a few HOAs do. We will tell you on the estimate.

Do you grind the stump?+

We can. Stump grinding is priced separately because not every customer wants it (some leave the stump for a planter or seat).

Are you insured?+

Yes. Full general liability and workers comp. Certificate of insurance available on request before the job.
